On completion of each job we ask for the client to fill in a feedback form (copies of which are available on request). We obtain around 90% of our work from word of mouth and obviously want that to continue.

When we come along and quote for work we give a written quote (rarely is it an estimate). We don’t follow up the quote with a phone call (only in exceptional circumstances) so if you’re happy with the quote, you call us and we’ll arrange a starting date for the work.

Kitchen Planning & Fitting

At Acorn Joinery Services we have a lot of experience in planning and fitting your dream kitchen from concept to completion. We can either “manage” the whole project using our team of recommended tradesmen (tiler , electrician , gas fitter etc. ) or we can fit only. We will supply and fit or fit to your own supply and design.

Bedroom Planning & Fitting

We will design, supply and fit the bedroom you want : Most clients we talk to are “wanting a good job at a reasonable cost “ - if you want this ideal then just click on the contact us link for further information. We can do bespoke bedrooms in various materials including natural pine or sliding systems for space saving the choice is yours.

Quality Door Fitting Service

We pride ourselves on the quality of work when fitting doors – I can guarantee that if you’re after a “cheap” quote for fitting doors then you’re on the wrong site. However fitting doors is a real skill as many of the customers I’ve worked for have agreed when I have followed on from someone who has fitted doors badly.

We supply and fit or fit only and with the cost of some of the doors today it’s well worth having them expertly fitted. We fit both internal and external doors and frames. We have recently been commissioned to fit a lot of oak doors and frames for clients. We are the recommended fitter of choice of two of Sheffield’s main door suppliers, and have built up a reputation with them for being able to contact the client and carry out a great looking job with the minimum of fuss and disruption. As is backed up by our testimonials.

Building Maintenance

We have various clients which we currently help out with our building maintenance work built on quality of work and service. With low overheads we can offer a good job at a reasonable price. We have been told how enlightening it is for the companies that use us “to have someone on site that they can trust to carry out the work with a minimum of fuss and disruption”.

If clients ask us to carry out work which we are not skilled at doing we have a team of other recommended tradesmen which we use to help them. We are not in the business of having a go at a job we’re not skilled or comfortable at doing.

Stairs & Stair Spindle Conversions

Whether it’s a new flight of stairs you want installing or just your existing staircase updating or improving then we are the team to carry this out for you. We have experience in installing all types of stairs, handrails, balustrades and spindle configurations . We are used to using all different types of materials from traditional to contemporary, Oak, Hemlock, Pine, softwood, Hardwood, whatever your choice we will endeavour to please.

Hardwood & Laminate Flooring

I’m sure that if you’ve had a go at fitting your own laminate or hardwood floor you know how hard it is to get the finish right. The main part of the floor may look reasonable but the finishing beading or up to the door frames is where a quality job shows.

We can either fit only or supply and fit and give you advice on which type of flooring is best for your circumstances. We do recommend “quick step” flooring but the choice is yours . Also please bear in mind that a cheaper laminate may take longer to fit as it may break up while fitting.

If you are contemplating fitting your own please bear in mind the relevant expansion gaps required around the room this is particularly relevant for hardwood floors as it’s a more natural product which may absorb more moisture and swell causing problems in the future.

Fitted Decking & Canopies

This is another area where a reasonable “D.I.Y.er” may achieve a result that they’re happy with . However if you want to ensure it to be structurally sound, aesthetically pleasing and long lasting then you may prefer a skilled tradesman to carry out the work.

We use tanalised pre-treated timber and good quality products to give a great look. Check out our (link ) Gallery page for some images of previously completed projects.

Bespoke Bookcases and Radiator Cabinets

The company can offer bespoke fitted bookcase, cupboards or radiator cabinets. We have previously carried out a number of these projects leaving all our customers highly satisfied. So whether it’s a budget option MDF cupboard which you could decorate yourself or a high quality oak faced fully decorated version which we can adapt to suit your needs.

Sash window overhauling and sealing

We can get that stuck up sash window working again by replacing cords, pulleys and/or weights and can apply modern seals which will significantly cut down on your draughts.
