For me to develop a tailor made exercise program I need to firstly establish your personal goals

WHAT MATTERS TO YOU AND WHY DOES IT MATTER?

This will be done by carrying out a health and lifestyle assessment. Understanding your exercise history i.e. likes, dislikes etc will play a crucial part in ensuring you succeed and achieve those so important goals


One to One Personal Training

I can offer a variety of training methods to my clients so they will never get bored. Every session will be different. I have never been a great believer in the statement that  “exercise should be fun”. My belief is that it needs to keep you motivated, stimulated and above all craving for more. This is my key to ensuring success.

Aerobic fitness – Cardiovascular exercise will reduce stress, increase your energy levels and have positive effects on your blood pressure and heart rate therefore reducing the risk of heart diseases, strokes and many other health related illnesses.


Muscle strength and endurance

We mustn’t overlook the importance of endurance and strength training. Using free weights or resistance machines may be alien to some people but the benefits are overwhelming. It can improve the quality of your life by maintaining your musculature which will make your daily tasks seem far easier. They are also very important for weight control and body shape, contributing to an increase in your BMR (base metabolic rate) by way of burning more calories during rest and sleep.


Core stability, flexibility and posture

Core stability training involves exercise that activates the deep trunk muscles with the aim of improving your posture, both at rest and during exercise. Good core stability can help maximise all sporting performance and prevent injury. Power is derived from the trunk region of the body and a properly conditioned core helps to control that power allowing for  smoother more efficient movement of the limbs. Well conditioned core muscles will help you maintain good posture and protect the spine and skeletal structure from extreme ranges of movement.

Flexibility and posture alignment

Time must be allowed for flexibility exercises to stretch the muscle groups that you have just used. This will reduce muscle soreness, muscle tension and reduce the risk of injury.


Nutritional and dietary advice

Nutrition goes hand in hand with exercise. A good quality balanced diet will be crucial to ensure you have the required energy levels to sustain your exercise program. If you understand the value of carbs, fats, proteins, vitamins and minerals  then you will have all the knowledge that is required for you to make an informed decision on your lifestyle and the changes you will need to make to succeed. Exercise alone will not get you where you want to be. A good diet and exercise will! My aim will be to make sustainable and realistic improvements to your dietary habits.

Group Classes

I can offer group bookings for circuits and studio boxing. The advantages of these are as follows:

Gym, home and outdoor training

Gym – Access to a family run gym which offers a full range of cardio, strength, core and studio class facilities which are free for you to use whilst attending a training session with me.

Home – You will be amazed how effective a workout can be without leaving the comfort of your own home. You just need to know how!

Outdoors – I am a great believer that exercising outdoors is more invigorating and gives you a real sense of achievement. I can offer several forms of training. To name a few:

Running, cycling, boxing, circuits, body weight exercises and many more

All of which will be well structured with all vital information recorded via GPS. Such as calories burnt, distance covered, average speed, lap times etc. These will all act as a way of measuring and monitoring your fitness as it increases

All of the above are essential elements of a successful health and fitness program.
